Glass Doors

Adequate airflow is essential for firelogs to burn. Keep glass doors open during the firelog burn [unless otherwise instructed by the manufacturer of your fire burning appliance]. Place a metal mesh screen in front of the opening to contain embers and ashes. After the firelog is completely burned out, close the glass doors to help retain heat. Leave the damper open until all ashes and bits of firelog no longer glow or smoke - and become completely cold. Remove cold ashes from the appliance and place them in a metal can and close the lid.
